What’s one attraction that can’t be missed when visiting your destination?

Greensboro offers a great selection of 135 attractions.  If I had to select one attraction that is a MUST see while in town I think I would have to recommend the Greensboro Science Center and SKYWILD.  As the ONLY facility in North Carolina to feature an accredited aquarium, museum, and zoo all in one destination, the Greensboro Science Center prides itself on hands-on educational and entertaining experiences.  Special animal encounters (i.e., feeding a octopus or playing with the African penguins, etc.) are available upon request. SKYWILD, located above the Greensboro Science Center’s zoo, is an animal-inspired treetop adventure park. Featuring 60 challenges and three levels of intensity, this exciting adventure is appropriate for thrill-seekers, nature-lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts ages 8 and up.

What plans, events does your destination have schedule that travel media should be aware of?

Grab your jig shoes and mark your calendars April 14-21, 2019 as Greensboro welcomes the World Championships in Irish Dancing.  After making the short list Greensboro was among three cities asked to present in Dublin, Ireland to the Irish Dancing Commission.  Representatives from the Greensboro CVB and the Sheraton Four Season pitched why Greensboro was the best place to hold their Championships in 2019.  It is truly exciting that Greensboro secured a world competition.  The Championships take place every year and the last time it was in the United States was in 2013.

Our Science Center is expanding the zoo and will feature many more unique animals from around the world.  The Greensboro Children’s Museum is undergoing an expansion as well with new exhibits and activities.
