Members of the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau are invited to attend the 2018 Marketing Conference, November 1 through 2, 2018, at Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes. The annual conference alternates between island and mainland locations in order to facilitate attendance by members and vendors based on either side of the channel.

UNIQUE FISHING AND GOLF PRO-AM TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS

Lake of the Ozarks, MO - Jeremy Lawyer, a pro fisherman who competes on the FLW Tour, doesn't consider himself much of a golfer. "Maybe miniature golf, but I'm not even very good at that," Lawyer joked.

Nonetheless, Lawyer has golf on his mind these days. Why? Because he will join other well-known bass fishermen November 14-16 to compete in the Missouri Invitational Fish and Golf Pro-Am at Lake of the Ozarks

The unique event, presented by Ulrich Marine and Duncan Fine Jewelry, will be based at the Old Kinderhook Resort in Camdenton, Mo. Now in its fourth year, the tournament combines two of Lake of the Ozarks' biggest drawing cards: bass fishing and golf.

About The Citizen Jane Film Festival:

Citizen Jane Film Festival (CJFF), which returns to Columbia the weekend of November 1-4, has been named in recent years as one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World" and one of the top "50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry" by FilmMaker Magazine.

Citizen Jane, which takes place throughout the historic Stephens College campus and downtown Columbia, features some of the most daring and accomplished works by women filmmakers from around the world, including films ranging in length and depth from feature narratives and documentaries to short films and animated films. The weekend also is packed with interactive panels with filmmakers, in-depth workshops with industry professionals, dance performances, game shows, an afternoon film school and fun and festive parties.

October 30, 2018 - Orange County will commemorate Veterans Day with a ceremony at the new Memorial site located near Seymour Center/Southern Human Services in Chapel Hill. The event will take place at 11AM on Monday, November 12, 2018. Veterans Day is marked each year on November 11th, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice (cease-fire) that ended that war. The armistice was signed in 1918 and President Woodrow Wilson first began the tradition of it as a day of American national remembrance in November 1919. In 1938 it became an official national holiday and in 1954, it became known as Veterans Day instead of Armistice Day.

Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks Voted Second Best Destination for Fall Foliage in US

Lake of the Ozarks, MO - It was announced on Friday, Oct. 12 that the "Best Recreational Lake" in the NationCentral Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks, was voted the second-best "Destination for Fall Foliage" in America, according to a recent USA Today readers poll.

The survey, conducted by USA Today and www.10Best.com, asked readers from across the country to choose their top spot for viewing the stunning colors of fall. Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks finished in the polling behind Michigan's Upper Peninsula, but beat out eight other destinations, including the Pocono Mountains, Door County in Wisonsin, the White Mountains in New Hampshire and others.

First Ladies of Arkansas Showcased at Old State House Museum

The Old State House Museum in Little Rock has reopened one of its most popular exhibits, "First Ladies of Arkansas: Women of their Times." The newly renovated exhibit, which first opened in the 1950s, is known for having the largest display of first ladies’ gowns outside the Smithsonian.
