Biography
I founded and published my own weekly newspaper for two years in Central Washington before moving to Hawaii, where I was Managing Editor of Sun Press Newspapers. Returning to the Mainland, I then spent six years at Valley Newspapers, a daily in Washington state where I was a reporter and City Editor, and where I won a national first-place award for investigative reporting. I left there to start my own travel magazine, Adventure Northwest, a regional publication on Pacific Northwest travel. I published that while writing travel columns for several daily newspapers in Washington, and while hosting statewide television and radio versions of Exploring the Northwest. In 1994, I sold the magazine and went to work as a General Manager for the Seattle Times. I moved to California in 1997 as publisher of Guest Informant for San Diego and Orange Counties. Currently I'm the editor and publisher of Californiaweekend.com and will be launching a print publication, California Weekend Getaways.
