Lola Akinmade, a new NATJA member who lives in Sweden, needs online votes to qualify for a June 2011 trip to the North Pole with Quark Expeditions. A widely-published writer and photographer, Akinmade [www.lolaakinmade.com] is soliciting votes for her trip at http://www.blogyourwaytothenorthpole.com/entries/15.
The tour company will pick the winner from among five finalists. Akinmade was part of that group at the beginning of December. “The Arctic Quark expedition is in my backyard and I would really love to represent NATJA as a travel writer and photographer,” she told The Wayfarer. Quark Expeditions is sending a writer to the North Pole to provide regular and engaging reports on the tour . . .
Another new NATJA member, Diana G. Armstrong of Littleton, CO is the author of Somewhere South of Tuscany, published earlier this year. The book may be viewed on her website www.DianaGArmstrong.com . . .
