Fourth of July in North Little Rock

Fourth of July weekend in North Little Rock doesn't get much more American than this: fried catfish, cold beer, fireworks, softball, ice cream and peaches. Better come hungry!

North Little Rock open for tourists

After the Arkansas River flooded at the end of May, the City of North Little Rock, especially its Parks & Recreation Department, rolled up its sleeves and got to work making North Little Rock's riverfront area safe and accessible for visitors. If you're visiting, you may see some areas still temporarily closed, particularly on the riverfront; however, most of the city was not affected or has already been cleaned up. So come see us!

(Speaking of which...we're happy to say that the Downtown Riverside RV Park will be open again July 1.)

Doggy-bag for here, please!

Summer is officially here and we're ready to hit the patios with our pups. Here is a convenient list of dog-friendly restaurants located throughout North Little Rock, including Flyway Brewing in the downtown Argenta Arts District, Morningside Bagels on Maumelle Boulevard, Original ScoopDog on JFK Boulevard and Wink's Dairy Bar on East Washington Avenue.

Dreaming big for Argenta Arts District

If you've driven downtown lately, you can see the construction frenzy occurring between 5th Street and Bishop Lindsey Avenue. But the vision doesn't stop there. "North Little Rock - especially the Argenta district in the city's historic downtown - is today the belle of the economic development ball in Central Arkansas, if not the entire state," writes Dwain Hebda in the latest edition of Block, Street & Building.
