Check It Out! What Is Happening in Chapel Hill/ Orange County 

November 2019: 

Orange County Open Studio Tour

During the first two weekends in November, potters, glass blowers, sculptors, jewelers, fiber artists and painters of the Orange County Artist’s Guild open their studios to the public. The free 25th Annual Tour is November 2-3 and 9-10 with Saturday hours 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday, Noon - 5 pm.

 


 

4th Annual Chestnut Festival

Come to Strouds Creek Farm at 1600 Friendship Lane in Hillsborough November 2, 11 am - 5 pm for family-friendly activities. Adults are free and each child, 18 and under will be $8. Face painting, bounce house, animals, crafts, zipline, vendors, chestnuts and more.

 


 

 

UNC Basketball Season Begins

UNC Men's Basketball season begins November 1 with a 7:30 pm exhibition game against the Winston-Salem State Rams in the Dean Smith Center. The regular season starts November 6 at 7 pm versus Notre Dame. 


 

Salt & Smoke Festival

 

Celebrate Fall during the 7th Annual Salt & Smoke Festival presented by Acme Food & Beverage Company and Chef Kevin Callaghan on November 9 from 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Rock Quarry Farm, 1700 NC Hwy 54. It's whole hog BBQ, oysters, drinks, music and more.

 


 

Carrboro Film Fest

Carrboro Film Fest embraces its identity as a Southern institution and will present exclusively Southern films in a non-competitive setting. Celebrate Southern cinema at The ArtsCenter on November 15-17. Tickets are $10 per film block, $20 for Saturday, $20 for Sunday, and $40 for a weekend pass.

 


 

 

Tarheel Antiques Festival & Christmas Crafts

Get a start on the Holiday Season at this Festival open to the public featuring antique and craft vendors, auctions, appraisals and Christmas themed activities and entertainment. Come November 16, 8 am - 6 pm and November 17, 10 am - 4 pm at Lloyd's Dairy Farm, 226 North Lloyd's Dairy Road in Efland. Admission is $5.

To participate in this amateur competition, submit your application from the Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce by November 22.
