Hiking is an awe inspiring route to experience the beauty of Arkansas. The state’s climate allows the pastime year round, and the fall season shines a spotlight on the colorful scenery.

“Fall hiking is great,” said Tim Ernst, a wilderness photographer and author of many guidebooks about hiking in Arkansas, including Arkansas Hiking Trails and the Ouachita Trail Guide. “And with so many different types of trees here, they don’t all turn color at the same time. When they do turn there are so many different colors. Our hardwood forest provides a beautiful variety when autumn sweeps across the landscape.”

Greater Lansing CVB Announces Tourism Data from Local Economic Impact Study

The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB), along with Anderson Economic Group, is pleased to announce its findings from an in-depth study in a report commissioned by the GLCVB entitled: Tourism Related Benefits in Greater Lansing’s Economy.

Tourism is an often overlooked portion of the Greater Lansing economy. The reality, however, is that the industry generates over $602 million in spending at local businesses and employs nearly 11,000 local residents. This report presents the findings of the study and provides a measuring stick by which continued programs and investments can be evaluated. The report includes 2015 data on the spending patterns of both day visitors and overnight guests to the region, and their impact on local businesses like restaurants, retailers, hotels, state sales tax and more.

'Red Rock Fantasy' Returns to Sedona

Holiday Central Sedona is bringing back a time honored holiday tradition throughout the month of December: Red Rock Fantasy.  

For 22 years, Red Rock Fantasy delighted and amazed snow bunnies young and old. After a four-year hiatus, this cherished community event will return to Sedona at its new home, Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. Free to the community, this daily light festival is from dusk to 9:00 p.m. and a free Trolley will be available every Friday and Saturday evenings (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Bigger and better, the 9th Annual Savor the San Juans invites visitors to taste the food, farm and film culture of Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Islands

This year, Savor the San Juans is nine years old, and has grown to encompass three film festivals, art exhibits, a new sustainable seafood Salish Sea Festival, a farm parade, farmers’ markets, two vineyard harvest festivals, harvest dinners and more. Taste island grown foods and wine, beer, cider and spirits, during a selection of farm-to-table dinners by local chefs.
