Barbara was a long-time contributor to Cruising World magazine, and still contributes to the magazine. A visitor to some of the world's most exotic and remote islands, she has written for the Seattle Times travel section, been a columnist for Northwest Yachting magazine as well as written for a host of other travel and boating publications. 

She is co-author of the sailing adventure book, Mahina Tiare, Pacific Passages.
