Happy Fall!

As I write this note. Our thoughts and prayers are with our South Carolina and Florida members who are experiencing torrential rainfall, ocean swells, and devastation from Hurricane Ian. This appears to be a once in 100 years hurricane. Stay safe by reviewing South Carolina’s Hurricane Guide and visiting the FEMA website for available resources in your affected areas. For information on donations or volunteer opportunities, please visit the American Red Cross or Volunteer Florida.

It’s hard to believe that fall is here. In many places, leaves are changing color, and signs for pumpkin patches and corn mazes are popping up. Here in California, we are a little slow in feeling the effects of autumn, but we will get there later in the month. We envy those experiencing nature’s transformation! This is a great time to cozy up with a cup of coffee and read our current issue of TravelWorld International magazine, “Falling in Love with Fall.” The issue is spectacular filled with photos and articles all provided by our members. A benefit provided by NATJA.

Don’t forget to get your submissions in for this year’s awards competition. Members receive special entry fees and Canadian members can submit in Canadian dollars. You will have the opportunity to win cash prizes. Don’t miss out!

The membership drive is in full swing. This is an opportunity for members to invite colleagues and media friends to join our family. Details are listed in this newsletter.

Lastly, we are continuing our plans for our spring conference in Fairbanks which will provide unique opportunities to experience the beautiful state of Alaska. If you haven’t signed up, do so today. You will not regret it.

Enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the year.

Warmly,
Helen
