Golf Applauds the Return of THE PLAYERS Championship March 11-16

The 51st Annual PLAYERS Championship returns to the storied greens of TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra.

St. Augustine, Fla. (February 11, 2024) – One of golf’s biggest events returns to Ponte Vedra for six days of unparalleled play March 11-16. THE PLAYERS Championship captures the attention of millions of sports fans and is truly entertaining for the hundreds of thousands that venture to Florida’s Historic Coast to attend.

Now in its 51st year, THE PLAYERS was first held in 1974 and continues to be one of golf’s most impressive events. The field of play is narrowed to 144 entries, which include the 50 best players as ranked by World Golf, current FedEx point leaders and winners of the competition for the past five years. The 2024 event ended in a historic win for Scottie Scheffler, already considered by most to be the best in the world. Scheffler became the first player in the tournament’s history to win back-to-back victories, having won in 2023.

The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is as legendary as the athletes who play it. It is the world’s first true stadium course, designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye. This balanced course is best known for its iconic Island Green on the 17th hole, which is notoriously challenging. The tournament has seen many notable winners, including Lee Trevino, Davis Love III, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy. Jack Nicklaus remains the only three-time winner.

The Stadium Course is beloved by spectators because it prioritizes the spectator experience. It can accommodate 36,000 fans and offers superb visibility and easy navigation. Covered bleachers with comfortable seating overlook game-defining holes like the 10th, 12th, 13th and 16th. Intimate lounge experiences with excellent views of the course, food and beverage options, and ample seating are also available.

The tournament’s annual Military Appreciate Day Concert is March 11 and features award-winning, multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Jordan Davis. The concert is free to any Tuesday ticket holder; a Tuesday Stadium Pass starts at just $40 and is available for purchase at THEPLAYERS.com/TICKETS. Active duty, retired, reserve, and National Guard members receive special offers and discounts.
