Dear NATJA Family & Friends:
So much has changed in the last few months and we have yet to know what the effects will be long term. Our communities were on lockdown for over two months and some longer due to COVID-19. Our country has just begun to open and tourism is ramping up.
In addition to the pandemic, we are confronting societal racism and questionable tactics by some police departments. Our citizens’ voices are being heard. Change is in the air.
Diversity and inclusion are at the very core of who we are as an organization. Our staff is diverse as is our advisory board. NATJA could not be who we are without reflecting the members we serve.
It’s during these times where kindness and consideration of others goes a long way. Let’s take a moment and think before we speak or act. Let’s try to diffuse unpleasant situations or circumstances by being thoughtful, considerate and kind. Let’s do our part for making the world a better place.
Be safe. Be well. And remember, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing.
Warm regards,
Helen Hernandez
