"The more we talk togther, the better we will all be," emphasizes Helen Hernandez, NATJA's new major domo. It's not the structure of the organization or the nominal role of the leaders, but the working relationship between administrators and members that matters. "If we get that right," says Hernandez, "we'll empower our members within a valued organization. Building value depends on dialog and responsiveness. Now that we're by the first few weeks of transition and challenges (whew!!), we're poised for the future." Updating our website, and assuring members all the state-of-the-art tools beneficial to journalists, is harder than just wishing and planning. Working in the back of the house sometimes has unintended consequences up front. Sorry if you are one of the few who has had problems, but we're clearly on a rising road! Be patient. We're at work. Last month's problems are history. We're expecting a new beta site first quarter 2009 and are looking for volunteers to help in planning and testing. If you are a frustrated user or a willing tester, let us know. We understand the Army system of volunteering!
