Rose Mendoza is a second-generation Mexicana, with family roots in Guadalajara MX. Rose established Dulce Vida Travel LLC, specializing in guided tours that highlight the culture and history of Mexico’s Magic Towns, as well as promoting the thriving Latino art and food scene within California. Our specialty is offering culturally enriched experiences that represent “La Cultura Mexicana”. Our clients are cultural enthusiasts, artists, and multi-generational Latinos that seek authentic cultural experiences and reconnect with their Mexican heritage.

Our offerings include all-inclusive tours & travel guides to “Pueblo Magicos”, which include Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla, Oaxaca, and San Miguel de Allende.

Mexico has designated 111 small towns, known as Pueblos Mágicos. These are Mexican towns whose culture, cuisine, history, and or natural treasures are described as a magical experience. Characteristics of these towns are the influences of Mexico’s indigenous past and their commitment to preserving their ancestral customs. Travelers experience well-preserved colonial churches, Artesanal folk art, world-class museums, local celebrations, and local cuisine.

We publish travel guides that speak to the Latino creative spirit, available on the Dulce Vida Website, and are written from a Latina perspective, meaning the guides focus on one-of-a-kind cultural experiences, that extend beyond the traditional tourist experience.

A highlight is a new guide that features Latino Experiences in California. Travel guides that highlight San Francisco’s Calle 24, San Jose’s East Side, Los Angeles’s Calle Olvera, and San Diego’s Barrio Logan. These experiences are rarely covered by travel journalists, yet in demand with growing the Latino population.

Dulce Vida Travel specializes in serving the Latino market, as recent studies indicate Latinos in America love to travel and their culture often influences their travel destinations. They seek to connect more with elements of travel that include family, music, and history than all other ethnic segments.

I joined NATJA in 2022, attended the annual conference in Puerto Rico, with the goal to expand my professional network within the travel industry, and learning best practices from successful travel journalists and industry professionals.
