Oscar Hammerstein II wrote these lyrics many years ago and that’s what I see as the summer travel season begins. The camping tents in the graphic above speak to enjoying nature and feeling free again after two years of restrictions. We all are bustin’ out all over.
Even though gas prices are off the charts, families are planning getaways close to home which provides an opportunity for local tourism. Only traveling 3-5 hours from home seems to be the trend.
Our own travels here at NATJA will take us to Fairbanks, Alaska next week where we will make arrangements for next year’s conference. At the request of Explore Fairbanks, NATJA will be adding an extra day to the conference to make it a 4-day event, from May 15 – 19, 2023. Stay tuned for updates and registration which opens July 1st.
Our media members received a notice a few days ago about an increase of $25 on their annual dues. This was a difficult decision to make, but after 13 years, it was necessary in order for us to continue to provide staffing and services to our members. This is the only increase. Member entry fees for the awards competition will remain the same.
