Clark Norton has been a freelance writer for more than three decades and has specialized in travel for more than 20 years. Along with hundreds of major features written for magazines and newspapers, he has authored or co-authored 16 travel guidebooks and written extensively for the Web. His work has appeared in The Washington Post Magazine, Outside, Hemispheres, Family Fun, Parenting, Family Life, Rolling Stone, Endless Vacation, Destinations, Reader's Digest, Porthole Cruise Magazine (as theme cruise columnist), California, Bridal Guide, American Way, EnCompass,, women,com, the San Francisco Examiner and dozens of other major publications around the world. His guidebooks to Tucson (AZ), California, the Dominican Republic and U.S. scenic drives have been published by Fodor's, Reedy Press, Hunter, AAA and Mobil. Clark's travel writing has been honored with two NATJA Gold Awards for Best Magazine Series for 2013 and 2014, as well as two Gold Awards from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), including best magazine travel story of the year for 1995. His media appearances include the Today Show and a number of Tucson and San Francisco area TV shows as well as numerous radio interviews about travel and other topics. Clark has also written screenplays, humor pieces, celebrity profiles, general features and done investigative reporting earlier in his career.
