A Streetcar Named Desire rolls through Argenta 

"HEY STELLA!" Tennessee Williams' timeless masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire, is coming to Argenta Community Theater Tuesday, September 17, through Saturday, September 22. Featuring a powerhouse of local talent, the production is a raw exploration of family, sensuality, gender roles and survival. The show is part of the three-weekend-long ACANSA Arts Festival of the South, with a special Community Conversation with Dr. Virginia O. Craighill on Wednesday, September 18.

Five little-known facts about The Old Mill

The Old Mill at T. R. Pugh Memorial Park has been in North Little Rock for almost 90 years. Though its most known for being in the opening credits of Gone with the Wind, the park actually has hidden gems from much, much earlier in history. If you've been to the park before, most likely you walked right by and had no idea!


 

Kaleidoscope LGBTQ+ Film Festival returns

Scheduled for October 31 through November 3, the 5th Annual Kaleidoscope LGBTQ+ Film Festival will feature a stellar lineup of award-winning LGBTQ+ feature and short films. Central Arkansas Pride will have more details soon! Follow the Facebook event for updates.


 

This month: First Annual Yadaloo Music & Arts Festival

It's finally here: the first annual Yadaloo Music & Arts Festival will be held at North Shore Riverwalk Park in North Little Rock on September 22, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The family- and dog-friendly festival will feature Texas Country Red Dirt musicians Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and William Clark Green. Food trucks, local vendors, dog park and lots of good music right on the river. And the fun doesn't stop there: adults are invited to the official after-party at Reno's Argenta Cafe with live music by Erin Enderlin.

Where to see fall color in North Little Rock

September 23 is the first day of fall, but in North Little Rock we're already on the lookout for when the green turns gold. Whether you're looking for a place to walk, cycle or just take a scenic drive, here are the best fall views in the city.


 

This month: Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge

All ages will have fun watching the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge at McCain Mall Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14! Wearing "full bunker gear," pairs of competitors race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting.

On our radar: Northern Lights Festival

If they're allowed to start talking about pumpkin spice, surely we can start talking about this year's Northern Lights Festival, coming up November 30. Why now? This annual free, family-friendly, holiday festival is going to be extra special: it will be the grand opening of the new Argenta Plaza in downtown North Little Rock. Lots of fun and holiday cheer is in the works, so go ahead and add it to your calendar while you savor your PSL.
